Slipknot concert experience

Hello everyone,

a month ago I attended my first Slipknot concert and I would love to share my experience.

For my 17th birthday last year I received from my dad a Meet and Greet package for Slipknot concert which took place on the 26th of January. I was so excited when I finally received the ticket in my mail box.

So on the day of the concert I travelled to Vienna which was about an 1 hour and 30 minutes plus I took a tram which was another 30 minutes. Never there less I was really excited but first let´s break down the package.

Meet and Greet package cost 311 eur plus shipping so over all it cost about 320 euros. With the package you receive a designated check in with an on site staff. Other than that you get a laminate, tour gift which was a limited edition Slipknot Zippo Lighter and a tour poster, you also receive a front of stage ticket to see Slipknot in concert and of course a meet and greet with the members of Slipknot. The last thing you receive is a Early Entry into the venue because you are already inside of the venue.

The meet and greet itself was amazing. At first I had a little trouble with the on site staff because the concert took place in Austria they spoke German and I speak English and Slovak. We were first put into a room where we waited to recieve further instruction after a couple of minutes the lady that travels with the band and makes sure this meet and greet event goes the way it should gave us the instruction we needed. We walked downstairs where we put our things together and formed a line. 6 band members came to the meet and greet and we took pictures then we formed another line and got our stuff signed. We were allowed to get only 1 item signed. All the band members were really nice. After all of this was over we went inside the concert hall and waited. Opening act was Suicidal Tendencies. They weren´t bad but the music did not reach out to me. After that Slipknot came in and it was something words can´t describe. The show was perfect. There was pyro, their special drummers were being lifted in the air thanks to hydraulics. Corey was crazy on stage. The set list was great even tho they didn´t play People=Shit. They played old stuff and new stuff. It was simply amazing.

Negatives

I never payed 5 euros for a cup of water. Thanks Stadthalle but think about what you are doing.

Someone slammed into my back and I was in some serious pain.

Overall it was worth the money, traveling, waiting, pain and sweat. I can´t wait for the next time.
