Rocková Maturita and Topfest

Rocková Maturita or Rock Graduation if you will is a competition in Slovakia where small bands that want to become bigger apply to compete. It´s basically a battle of the bands. The grand prize is a tour, album, music video etc... Last year I attended the finale which was won by Asenth. It was at this finale I fell in love with Friday Whiskey. Who, to this day I strongly believe should have won. Anyway, I am not going to talk about the judges because it´s about the music.

This year at TopFest Rocková Maturita will have its own stage. For the first time there will be two categories Hard & Heavy and Pop & Rock. I am honestly excited to see this happen. Everyone at the TopFest will witness semifinale of the competition. The bands will of course be judged.

TopFest... I love the festival so much. I attended last year and I already have my ticket for this year. I even have a VIP ticket. But what is going on? They haven´t really announced a line up that would impress anyone. I mean yes it will be fun to see The Paranoid, Horkýže Slíže and Kabát but last year I saw Chelsea Grin, Texas In July, Twisted Sister and Hollywood Undead. I really hope they announce something awesome like AC DC, Black Sabath or Korn. I will even be happy with Skillet and Five Finger Death Punch. So time will show.
